Mashape Joins the Linux Foundation’s Cloud Native Computing Foundation

Mashape, the creator of Kong, is now a proud Silver Member of the Linux Foundation’s Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). T​he CNCF is sustaining and integrating open source technologies to orchestrate containers as part of a microservices architecture.

With nearly 10,000 stars on Github and over 2.5 million downloads, Kong is the most popular open-source API gateway and microservices management layer. Built on top of NGINX, a high-performance web server, Kong is designed to sit in front of highly performant APIs and microservices to protect, extend and orchestrate distributed systems.

CNCF is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the development of cloud native technology and services by creating a new set of common container technologies informed by technical merit and end user value, and inspired by Internet-scale computing. As a shared industry effort, CNCF and its members represent container and cloud technologies, online services, IT services and end-user organizations focused on promoting and advancing the state of cloud native computing for the enterprise.
