Charity is the co-author of Database Reliability Engineering (O'Reilly) and is devoted to creating a world where every engineer is on call and nobody thinks on call sucks.

Dave’s most recent responsibility has been to create innovative solutions for IBM’s customers looking to modernize and migrate parts of their legacy application environments to include a cloud-centric design. The solutions Dave is creating include the capability to receive the value and benefit of connecting to multiple cloud providers while not being locked into a single solution or be trapped by the extensive fees that often limit multi-cloud use. Currently, he is developing strategies to onboard new ISVs (hardware and software) and service providers to amplify IBM’s offerings as IBM develops new IBM Cloud Packs, providing the customer with a comprehensive solution for solving both on-premise and cloud-based business solutions.
