Talk 1 – Zero Downtime Upgrading Strategies to Kong Gateway 3.x by Andrew Kew
If you are running Kong < 3.0 and need help on how to upgrade and what to look out for? Then this talk is for you. In this talk I will discuss a few upgrade strategies from Kong 2.x to 3.x to ensure a zero downtime, smooth upgrade. I will talk through what to look out for when upgrading to 3.x and finally discuss some of my favourite new features.

Speakers

Andrew Kew (Principal Engineer, QuadCorps)
Andrew is a highly passionate technologist with over 15 valuable years experience in building server side and cloud applications.
Having spent the majority of his time in the Financial Services domain, his meritocratic rise to CTO of an Algorithmic Trading firm allowed him to not only steer the business from a technology standpoint, but build robust and scalable trading algorithms. His mantra is “right first time”, thus ensuring the projects or clients he is involved in are left in a better place than they were before he arrived.

Mark Sivill (Senior Solutions Engineer, Kong)
Mark is a Solutions Engineer at Kong based in the United Kingdom who works with companies to explore the value that Kong can deliver to their businesses. Previously he has worked at companies such as Splunk, Salesforce, and Oracle bringing his background in observability, Software-as-a-Service, and middleware to API Management.
