Marco Palladino is an inventor, software developer and Internet entrepreneur based in San Francisco, California. He is the co-founder and CTO of Kong, the most widely adopted open source API platform. Besides being a core maintainer, Marco is currently responsible for the design and delivery of the Kong products, while also providing the technical thought leadership around APIs and microservices within Kong and the external community. Marco was also the co-founder of Mashape, which started in 2010 and is today the largest API marketplace in the world.

Kat Morgan is a Developer Advocate at Kong Inc. She is experienced in the delivery and support of enterprise Linux infrastructure, Kubernetes infrastructure and middleware, and DevOps practices. She is a host of Kubevirt (a CNCF Sandbox Project) community meetings, a member of the Puluminaries community, and a founding member of UOR Framework.

The Kong Summit Hackathon is a virtual event with an online open submission period from September 1-27th, 2022. Contributions are encouraged from all Kong Community members and you can even earn a Kong Summit ticket though your contribution (plus additional prizes and swag)! Please see the Hackathon event page for all event details and updates.
The annual API Innovator Awards give us the opportunity to shine a light on the projects and people who are ahead of the pack in their use of Kong. Submissions are open for nominees -- and will be open through August 11. All winners will be recognized at the awards ceremony during Kong Summit 2022 on September 29, 2022. Winners will receive a trophy, recognition via social promotion and a press release, a promotional toolkit, a donation to a charity (Kong will provide the funding and the list of charity options) and a chance to chat on a panel at the awards ceremony.Visit the API Innovator Awards page for more information and to submit your project!
