Kong Hits Record Growth in 2018
Achieves 9X Year-Over-Year Bookings Growth, 100 Customers and 54 Million Downloads
SAN FRANCISCO December 13, 2018 Kong Inc., the leading API platform for modern architectures, today announced record growth in 2018. Among the many milestones, Kong achieved 9X year-over-year growth in bookings to date, more than doubled employee count, reached 100 Kong Enterprise customers including WeWork, SoulCycle and Yahoo! Japan and counted more than 54 million downloads of open source Kong.

Kong is the single source of truth for all API traffic management and configuration at SoulCycle, said Mark Sost, senior director of engineering at SoulCycle. Our team needed to scale heavily to support our emerging Podium platform and other SoulCycle products, and Kong allowed us to significantly increase the velocity and agility with which we could push releases to production -- from five to six releases per week with our legacy system to more than 424 releases within the past 30 days alone on Podium.
