We're thrilled to announce the latest release of Kong Insomnia, version 2023.2.0, packed with improvements and fixes that will make it even easier to manage your APIs.

In this release, we introduce an enhanced Import flow, along with support for Kong 3.0 and the return of Swagger/OpenAPI preview. Continue reading to learn more about these exciting updates.

## Enhanced Import flow

One of the main challenges of API management is importing data from other tools and sources. With the improvements we've made to the Import Flow, we've streamlined this process to make it more intuitive.

We've listened intently to feedback from the community who were frustrated at times when dealing with data being imported successfully but not being properly shown, or users not having enough control over where and what to import.

In this release, we've created a new Import flow to solve these problems by giving users more power to decide what they want to import and where they want to import into.

We’ve also solved some issues where data was being imported successfully but not being displayed properly, so you can trust that the data you import will be accurately represented in Kong Insomnia.

The core mechanics of previous Import experience are still there in a familiar format, meaning you can still import data from a variety of sources, including files, URLs, and pasting data directly from the clipboard.

Additionally, if you’re sharing Insomnia collections with others using the [run in Insomnia button](https://docs.insomnia.rest/insomnia/run-in-insomnia-button)run in Insomnia button, they’ll also experience the new enhanced Import flow.

This means that collaborating on projects and sharing data with others is now easier and more intuitive than ever before.

We continue to actively support importing from Postman, as well as other popular import formats such as Swagger, OpenAPI, HAR, cURL, and also legacy Insomnia formats (v3/v4).

Our motivation for the current and future import experience is that users can quickly and easily import their API data from any source and start managing it right away.

## Other improvements

In addition to the enhanced Import flow, we’ve added two other exciting improvements to the Insomnia Rest API client.

This means you can now generate declarative configuration files for Kong 3.0 directly from your OpenAPI specs. This will save you time and effort when creating and updating your Kong configurations.

Secondly, **Swagger/OpenAPI preview is back!**

We’ve added support for OpenAPI 3.1 specs, and you can preview your Swagger/OpenAPI specs right in the UI alongside the editor.

This makes reviewing and testing your API documentation easier, without switching back and forth between different tools.

As always, we’ve included a number of other improvements and bug fixes in this release.
