One of the main points a typical cloud migration project should address is supporting workloads running on multiple platforms. On such a journey, companies modernize and migrate their current applications and services from OnPrem to Cloud leading to a hybrid deployment. Once they have been moved, it would be natural to support them running in multiple regions.

In this webinar, Kong Solutions Architects Degui Xu and AWS Head of FSI Specialist Architects Akash Jain will illustrate how a single Kong Konnect API Gateway Cluster can expose and protect workloads running OnPrem and several AWS Cloud runtimes, including Amazon EC2, ECS and EKS, as well as enforcing policies through integration with AWS services.

Key Takeaways

  • How to deploy and control APIs across multiple runtime environments including EC2 for VM, ECS for containers and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
  • Define different API collections applying Konnect Runtime Groups to control where and when they are exposed and who will consume them.
  • Control the API consumption with specific security and observability policies integrated with several AWS services such as Amazon Cognito for OpenId Connect based Authentication process, Amazon OpenSearch Service for Log Processing, Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus and Amazon Managed Grafana for Monitoring, etc.
