It’s Not Just About Automation: DevOps and Hosting APIs
Karl Schwirz
Solution Principal at Slalom
In the world of increasing automation and toolsets, DevOps has gone from a buzzword to being part of how software engineering is conducted. What’s more, monoliths are being broken down into self-contained ecosystems of APIs. Between these individually maintained APIs, coupled with an endless list of automation tools, there can be a whole new world of chaos if the correct process is not in place.
In this session, I will cover a recent project example of hosting a three-tiered application that started with manual builds, building up basic CI/CD pipelines and finally having a full-fledged DevOps automation workflow. Technologies covered: AWS, Kubernetes, Kong, Octopus Deploy and Selenium.
Destination: Automation is a free, digital event exploring ways organizations can embrace automation to make their applications and underlying tech stacks more efficient, secure and resilient.
