Unifying Commerce APIs With Kong

Bold has been part of the e-commerce explosion since the early days of Shopify and delivering apps that provide extended value for merchants. Bold has evolved from an app-focused to an API-first company that delivers headless commerce and composable solutions for brands on multiple platforms.

This talk will outline how we transitioned from siloed apps to a unified API for our commerce capabilities, including centralizing cross-cutting concerns such as authentication, rate limiting and custom behaviour. We'll also discuss our increased focus on developer experience with partners, agencies and large commerce brands.

This session explores how Kong supports Bold's unified API and MACH architecture (microservices, API-first, cloud native and headless) to provide scalable commerce solutions for our brands.
