# How Kong AI Gateway Integrates with CrowdStrike Falcon Guardian to Block Prompt Injection and Shadow AI Threats
This session explains how Kong and CrowdStrike are combining Kong AI Gateway with CrowdStrike Falcon Guardian to secure enterprise AI traffic and improve AI detection and response. CrowdStrike frames the need with data from its 2026 Global Threat Report: adversaries’ use of AI-enabled tools rose 89%, 67% of organizations have not addressed generative AI security risks, and 60% of security teams have ignored alerts because of overload; one North Korean actor achieved a 27-second breakout time using common AI tools. The integration places Falcon Guardian in Kong’s gateway path to inspect prompts and responses for prompt injection, jailbreaks, secrets, PII, credentials, and policy violations before traffic reaches models, MCP servers, or agents, while sending verdicts to the Falcon console. Speakers also highlighted shadow AI and described upcoming endpoint-based traffic steering from the Falcon sensor to Kong AI Gateway so unmanaged AI usage can be brought under governance without changing user workflows.
