DBS has been ranked as the world’s best bank and best digital bank. API strategy has played a crucial role in DBS' digital transformation journey. Although the bank already had another API solution in place, they found it challenging to keep up with increasing demands as they moved into a microservices architecture. About two years ago, after a comprehensive evaluation process, the bank adopted Kong as the next-generation API platform to support future growth. Since then, Kong has been deployed both as an internal and external gateway thanks to its lightweight architecture and agnostic platform support.
