Announcing the 3rd Annual Kong Hackathon

Kong

We’re excited to announce the 3rd Annual Kong Hackathon in conjunction with API Summit 2023!

This year, the Hackathon will focus on API innovation using Artificial Intelligence.

AI is revolutionizing the world, and we want to create an opportunity for the Kong community to experiment with AI applications specifically around APIs.

Individuals and teams of up to four from Kong's community will earn prizes, digital badges, and recognition by competing in this month-long virtual Hackathon opening for submissions today!

Innovate on AI applications applied to business, technical, and operational processes by adding new features to existing projects, or start from scratch. Submissions are open to your creativity and ideas. Here are just a few submission suggestions to get you started:

  • APIOps / Automation Hacks
  • Unique uses of OpenAPI specifications
  • Innovative uses of an API
  • Combine many APIs to produce a useful product
  • End-to-end workflow using Kong products

All approved contributions will receive a digital 2023 API Summit Hackathon contributor badge. A $500 gift card will be awarded to the top overall contribution and $250 gift cards will be awarded to the 2nd-5th place contributions.

In addition, Kong will donate $20 to the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund for each submission.

The submission period is open through September 27th, the first day of API Summit 2023. Winners will be announced during the event on September 28, 2023.
