We’re excited to announce that Kong Konnect is available in two new geographic regions (“geos”): the Middle East (UAE) and India. With this expansion, Konnect is now hosted in five geos worldwide, including the US, EU, and Australia.
This means Konnect’s core services and applications — including Gateway Manager, Mesh Manager, Dev Portals, Service Catalog, and Analytics — can be hosted in more geographic regions of your choice. Whether through the UI, API, decK, or Terraform, you now have greater flexibility to configure and deploy Konnect where it best serves your needs.
At Kong, we aim to provide users with the flexibility to grow globally without compromising on data residency or latency needs. With Konnect now hosted in the Middle East and India — and with more regions to come — we’re excited to mark this step towards seamless compliance, performance optimization, and scalability.
Just how easy is this in practice? Let’s say most of your organization’s end-users, applications, and gateway deployments are located in the Middle East. In order to meet compliance regulations in that region and enhance your customers’ experiences through reduced latency, you’d like to deploy your Konnect control planes in the Middle East.
To get started, head over to the bottom left-hand side of Konnect and simply select the geo you’d like to operate Konnect in. In this case, the Middle East.
*By clicking the Middle East geo, you can host and operate Kong Konnect control planes, as well as Konnect’s core services and applications, in that geographic region. The same logic applies to the India geo — and any other geo.*
Now that you’re in the right geo, you can set up new gateways and control planes, analyze incoming API traffic and performance, create developer portals, and catalog your live services and APIs in the Middle East.
