Kong Insomnia 11: Elevating API Security and Collaboration
We’re excited to announce the general availability of Kong Insomnia 11!
This release introduces third-party vault integrations for enhanced security, an all-new Git sync experience for more seamless collaboration, and support for multi-tabs to improve efficiency within the Insomnia application. Keep reading to learn more.
Streamline secrets management with vault integrations
In Insomnia 11, you can now integrate with your external vault of choice for streamlined secrets management. The supported vault integrations include HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, and GCP Secret Manager.
For security-conscious teams, this update provides even more control over the ability to store and retrieve sensitive credentials without needing to store them in plain-text. This reduces the risk of credential exposure while making it even easier to privately synchronize, share, and version control collections in Insomnia.

Unlock seamless collaboration with project-level Git sync
When it comes to version control and collaboration, we know that Git sync is a go-to choice for many of our customers. In the latest release, we’re unveiling a new Git sync experience to make collaboration even more seamless in Insomnia.
This update introduces the ability to leverage Git sync on a per-project basis — making it so that you can manage all project files with a single Git repository, as opposed to syncing individual collections and environments separately. This functionality is also supported by the Inso CLI, enabling seamless interaction between your Git projects and the command line.
Additionally, we’re introducing the ability to automatically import existing Insomnia files anywhere in your repository, making it even easier to collaborate using Git Sync.

Multi-task more efficiently with multi-tab support
In Insomnia 11, we're introducing multi-tab support to improve productivity and reduce friction in your workflow. Previously, if you needed to switch between requests, collections, or environment variables, you would need to open a new instance and leave your current view. Now, you can simply open new tabs on-demand and manage multiple tasks at once — all while staying within the Insomnia application.
This means whether you’re tweaking an environment variable while working on a request or comparing API responses from different environments, everything stays at your fingertips. Muti-tab support is designed to make multi-tasking feel second nature in Insomnia, enabling you to focus more of your time on building great APIs, not on navigating menus.
