Today, we celebrate a momentous new step for Kong – the unveiling of our new London office! The UK team joined in celebration to officially cut the ribbon and explore our new office location at 1 Poultry.
This event was the culmination of all the momentum and growth we have accomplished over the past few years, not only in the UK but across Europe. I’m incredibly proud of the team’s determination and grit that has brought us to this milestone and look forward to the many more celebrations to come.
We decided to open this new location after seeing record growth in the UK – we now have more than 55 Kongers in the UK (and more than 450 worldwide)! The local market has brought rapidly increasing demand for our API platform, particularly from the financial services, e-commerce and government sectors – nearly doubling our UK customer base over the past year.
As we saw businesses reopen and begin to embrace face-to-face meetings again, we wanted to build a flexible, hybrid work environment for our expanding workforce in the UK, where they have a space to work collaboratively while still having the option to work remotely from home.
We asked a couple of excited UK Kongers about what they think of the new London office:
“I joined Kong during the pandemic as one of the first CXMs on the EMEA team, and I didn’t expect to love Kong and this team so much. Working remotely has been both challenging and efficient in many ways. I always longed for human interaction, and now that we have a place of our own in central London, it feels great to be able to meet colleagues and interact with them on a regular basis. There is something special about being in the same room, brainstorming ideas on how to improve the customer experience and drive further adoption. At the end of a hard-working day, going to the pub next door is a great way to build relationships and just get to know one another outside of work as well. I enjoy being part of a team that is building API technologies to enable the connected world our digital lives depend on.”
